How Is Everyone Alive Again in Darker Than Black

Probably this is my longest post since I started this blog. Haha.  Concluding impression of this series noted at the stop. =)

Episode 25:  "Is the Dream that a God of Death Has a Darkness Darker than Black?" (series finale)

Summary :  Amber has used her contract previously for Amagiri to destroy the Saturn System, so in render, she has gotten younger once again and is now in chibi style. With the dolls EPR collected all dead, Yin has been the 1 to lead Hei to where he is supposed to go. Hei and Yin finally meet with Amber who is grateful that they both came.  She apologizes and says she has not much fourth dimension left.

Exterior PANDORA, information technology's pure chaos. Kono and Saito are wondering what's been happening inside the surface area and comments that information technology's like a war. Back in the Astronomy Department, everyone is working hard and worried since the bang-up black spot will reach its final stage soon while Stargazer-sama is in creepy manner laughing about. Matsumoto so drives by in a machine and picks upwards Saito and Kono and asks them to arrive and they'll attempt to go through the gates of PANDORA while it's still chaotic. He brought armors and armament with him and notes that Contractors aren't their simply enemy. Saito nods his head in understanding. They are able to drive through and get inside. Meanwhile, in PANDORA's control center, Nishijima and Dr. Schroeder are getting ready to fire the anti-gate particles and trying to observe out where BK-201 is exactly.

Yin has led Amber and Hei equally far as they can get within the gate. Amber notes that Hei seems not to exist angry anymore and concludes that it must exist because Yin and Mao were able to laissez passer her message to him. Hei says that earlier coming here, he really didn't care why Bister was fighting and wonders if Amber had been fighting the organisation e'er since the incident in South America. Bister says they only had several members then and that it was only later that they plant out about the organization'south plans. Amber then goes on to explain a few things: After the Heavenly War, Amber notes that they've always done what they were told and never really wondered why they take to be spies and have to kill since they were Contractors after all who ever act rationally, simply afterward some time, they began slowly changing though she doesn't know when exactly it happened. They started to call each other comrades and shared lots of information. She informs Hei that Bai was one of them and that Bai was the one who found out nigh the organization's plan. She says that Bai never wanted Hei to become involved in all this since, unlike them, Hei was human being. Amber notes that this is the instance until now, information technology'south been difficult for Hei to choose being a contractor and a human. Amber continues on saying that everytime Hei listened to the organization in order to accept Bai every bit a contractor, Bai was saddened and injure to come across Hei like that. In plow, Bai started to change trivial by lilliputian. Amber tells him she knows this considering information technology's what she felt to and says that it's too the same for Yin, that she and the other contractors are starting to change little by footling also, although they can't understand it now. She says that they don't know who made the gate or why, just their contracts is just the kickoff of something new, something that tin can simply occur and get more evident as fourth dimension goes on.  Hei asks why she just told him almost this now. Amber replies that if she told Hei about information technology before, he probably wouldn't have believed her anyway, and more importantly, Hei might take tried to leave the organization, and in that example then he wouldn't have survived until at present. Yin then cuts in and tells Amber that the thing they were trying to end (the anti-gate particle that will wipe out all contractors and the gate) volition come before long. Amber then asks Hei if he wants to run into Bai.

Amber is now holding the intact glass dish containing the meteor fragment that she shattered earlier to give to EPR members earlier, which she notes is at present back to normal in its intact land inside the gate. Hei asks what she's planning to exercise. Bister says that merely like in South America, they are going to release Bai's power earlier the Saturn Organization has been fired and so that no one may footstep foot in Hell's Gate again only similar in Sky'due south Gate. She then starts to give Hei the glass dish. Hei asks her what exactly she wants him to do. Amber says Hei must have noticed it by at present that Bai has ever been within him since the moment he thought she died. She adds that electricity is merely the tip of Bai's power and that her true power is something Hei should know better than anyone (this revelation confused me even more). Amber then tells him, "Let's meet Bai."  Hei hesitates and wonders what volition happen to the city, realizing that if he releases that much power and if he wants to run into Bai, contractors and humans alike volition all vanish, just like in Due south America. He says he can't exercise that. Bister tells him that if that'south the case then all contractors everywhere, including her and Yin will vanish, except Hei. This makes Hei'due south dilemma even more complicated. Dorsum in the control room, the anti-gate particle is virtually to be fired and the countdown has begun. Just and then, a video feed comes in and they see Hei, Amber and Yin on the monitor. This makes Kirihara stand up up from the sidelines, from what she simply saw, she notes and blurts out that BK-201 didn't cause the explosion since he is hesitating. Anybody ignores her. She moves forward to attempt to end the detonation but Hourai holds her back. Merely at the same time as it was detonated, Amber forcefully sticks the meteor fragment inside Hei, which causes a bright light to emanate, enveloping the whole metropolis.

In a sort of dreamlike world, a chibi Hei appears, looks up the heaven and sees the quondam starry sky back. He then starts to breakdown in tears, proverb that he didn't want to practise this and brand everything disappear. Bai then speaks to him and asks him what's incorrect. Hei insists and tells Bai that nothing is wrong. Bai says he's lying since he is now crying. Hei is taken aback past this. Bai goes on, telling him that she knew all along that Hei didn't desire to impale anyone, that he was just doing things that he didn't want to for Bai's sake since she was a contractor. Hei adamantly tells her that she's wrong and that he is the Black Reaper. Bai insists this is not true and that Hei is Hei, telling him not to push himself so hard. Simply and then, Huang appears grabbing Hei past his shirt and tells Hei non to practice the impossible, adding that Hei's indecisive mental attitude bothered him then much. Mao so appears and says that this attitude which makes Hei interesting. November 11 joins in and comments that he knew about this indecisiveness but didn't call up that even Hei'south existence itself was indecisive calculation that Hei was clearly unlike from true contractors. The residuum of the contactors who died in previous episodes then appears, surrounding Hei (those I tin can recognize included Havoc, Wei, Mai, Amagiri, Alma, and Nick) . Huang speaks over again, asking Hei if he gets it now, that it's because humans like him are pretending to exist a contractor, adding that if he can't cull a side then merely exist on both. Mao agrees, saying that Hei tin be like a contractor and like a man. Hei then looks at Bai, who gives him an encouraging nod and a grin. Hei smiles dorsum.

A grown up Amber and so appears and asks if Hei is truly fine with just that, if that is Hei's answer. She points out that it volition only be more difficult on Hei if he chooses both and that the organization will try to kill him at all cost and that in plow, he will have no choice but to kill once once more. She indicates that she thought he didn't desire that anymore since he will lose everything he longed for, similar the existent stars and sky and won't be able to see Bai anymore. Hei cuts Amber off and just hugs her. Bister sadly wonders why that'southward his answer even though she knew that he must take wished for this for a long time that's why she did this for him. Nov xi interjects and points out that Amber was the 1 who didn't desire to let Hei go. Hei starts to say something to her but Amber cuts him off and kisses him, proverb that she didn't want to hear it from him. Bai so takes Amber'southward hand and warmly says goodbye to Hei. Hei smiles at her and says goodbye, calling Bai past her real proper name, Xing, and says bye to everyone as well. Merely then, they all disappear and the brilliant calorie-free surrounding Hei turns into what seems to be a black hole, sucking him in.

Hei and then hears Yin speak to him, asking him to come back and not to leave her lone. Hei struggles on and reaches out for Yin's ghostly hand. At that moment, Hei is back where he was before within the gate. He asks Yin where Amber is merely nosotros only see her clothes. She apparently used her remaining power to gear up back the time. Hei realizes that Bister planned this all forth. The time was rewound to the scene when PANDORA was about to fire the antigate particles and starts the inaugural. This time around, everything seems to go as before except the video feed shows no one in view on the monitor unlike before. However, Kirihara still stands upwards and tries to stop the detonation, blurting out this time that BK-201 is not at the core expanse and that there'll be no explosion and no threat. Like before, she moves frontward to attempt to stop the detonation but Hourai holds her back. The push button is pushed but this fourth dimension no explosion occurs. Nishijima demands to know what is happening. The lights then shut down and they all of a sudden kickoff to glow (merely similar in episode 22 when Hei grabbed Amber's head). Through the monitor, they then see BK-201 standing over their weapon just earlier they can do annihilation to kill him, he is able to escape. An explosion occurs. Nishijima and so orders a 2nd shot to be fired simply Dr. Schroeder informs him that information technology's no longer possible since the anti-gate particles in the weapon has now been transmutated into a unlike form of thing past a special particle emitted by BK-201's electric assault. He says that BK-201's electricity is not a normal one and is able to alter affair at the molecular level, stating as an example of it'southward outcome that a human being can become a contractor. He notes that he didn't anticipate BK-201 to actually attack the weapon itself, sheepishly saying that it's their loss. Nishijima, not accepting defeat like this, punches him in the face.

Hourai then draws out a gun and shoots Nishijima to expiry, then plants the gun on Nishijima'south easily. He so informs Kirihara that their story is they are surreptitious that'due south why they are at PANDORA and that the target was Nishijima for violating United nations police force and committing insurgent crimes. Kirihara comments that information technology's just like cut off a lizard'south tail, asking if that's how the system works. Hourai says that'southward how all government organizations piece of work. Kirihara goes on stating that Hourai planned out an extermination attempt on the contractors and killed organization member Nishijima fifty-fifty after the threat of explosion was gone, asking if Hourai was the ane who originally planned it and not EPR in order to get rid of all contractors. He and so tells Kirihara that she has no prove. Kirihara says in that location'll be a day to come when he will be judged and that he shouldn't think that he will be able to get out of this. Hourai says the organization'due south existence and his connection to it tin't be peradventure proved by someone like Kirihara who has limited influence. Kirihara notes that wven if that's the example, with this huge incident, fifty-fifty the organization can't stop the people from knowing of the being of contractors. Hourai comments that they should've killed all the contractors when they had the chance, when they were merely nameless stars. Just and then, Kirihara reveals a vocalization recorder in her pocket and that she has recorded this conversation. She and so tries to abort Hourai who suddenly grabs her by the pharynx and starts to choke her. He asks her why she cannot understand that the path she is choosing is filled with even more than violence, noting that humans and contractors will continue to hate each other stating that information technology zippo lies in that futurity, adding that someone who fights for peace like Kirihara should exist able to empathize this more than than anyone else. Surprisingly, Kirihara is saved from Hourai's evil clutch past a masked Hei. Hei fights Hourai and hands pins him down and is nearly to kill him when Kirihara intervenes and tells Hei he shouldn't. Hei doesn't kill Hourai and starts to run off. Kirihara yells and asks him to terminate, surprisingly calling him "Li-kun."  Hei stops in his tracks for a moment, telling Kirihara that the person named "Li" no longer exists.

As the credits roll, Kirihara then goes on voiceover style, just like in the 1st episode. She narrates that soon after that, anybody was back to their normal lives and that just equally Hourai said, the incidents involving contractors have increased and show of the organization's being was nowhere to exist found. Nonetheless, people are at present enlightened of the contractors being. Kirihara notes that there will come a twenty-four hour period when we all have to make choices. Kirihara then goes over to the apartment where Hei was staying. The landlady notes that he left.

As Kirihara goes in the room and stares exterior Hei'due south window, she suddenly sees Hei walking walking down the street and runs afterward him. She wonders if they chose the same path where everyone can live together. She keeps on running later him and thinks to herself that she wants to hear the answer from Hei himself. As she rounds the corner, she loses sight of Hei.  As she walks abroad, a cat that looks merely like Mao is shown to u.s. while over the water, a spectre in the shape of Yin is seen by us, watching over Kirihara.

~ THE Cease.

My Impression : It was an intense episode with a lot of dialogue. Overall, I actually liked it. Plot-wise, I retrieve it was a plumbing fixtures and expert plenty ending for this series since a number of the main plot issues have been resolved. However, I must say that there'southward still a bunch of questions swirling in my head after watching it, especially regarding the characters.

Episode comments:  Annoying professor. I really wanted to punch him when he was eagerly anticipating the explosion against contractors. In terms of contractor welfare, nosotros larn that Amber is a good guy later on all. It's impressive that she was able to plan something as intricate every bit that, allowing Hei to find his answer and his own path to choose. It surprised and dislocated me a bit to learn that Hei is both man and contractor. I do have a little idea how Hei probably got his power. Delight note that this is only my two cents about it and how I interpreted the explanation given. I remember it has something to do with what the professor said well-nigh BK-201's power being able to modify things at the molecular level, stating humans being able to be transformed into contractors equally his example. Since Bai had this power, she was able to utilize the entire extent of this ability to change Hei (considering the trunk's molecular-level change) into having a like power as hers, perhaps anticipating that something like what happened in South America will happen again. For me, this also somehow explains why Hei didn't have any remuneration for his contract. Still, Amber says Bai is inside Hei… What? How? I still don't get that part, unless it was just a figure of oral communication. (edit: I re-watched the final 4 episodes recently and the translation was a chip clearer than the previous one. Since a function of Bai'south ability is to give humans power past altering particles on a molecular level,  I assume she was able to grant Hei her own ability through this earlier she died/disappeared, in a manner making herself a part of him. Still a bit unclear, merely I understand it better now. I demand to re-watch the serial again sometime for ameliorate comprehension of this and other stuff I might have missed.)

I take it that Bister believes that the aforementioned gradual changes they are experiencing regarding the mode contractors call up and are able to develop further emotions will be experienced by the other contractors sooner or afterward. It sounded to me like evolution and adaptation. Equally the surroundings and influences change, people will change and grow and this is no different from contractors. Hei'southward dilemma was axiomatic and was pointed out by the dreamlike encounter with the expressionless contractors and Huang. His characteristic of being indecisive makes him conspicuously dissimilar from the typical rational contractors since he was, afterward all, both a human and a contractor. I liked that they brought dorsum the those people he encountered who have passed to help him understand himself amend, assuring him that he can stop hesitating about his existence and attempt to cull his own path. I think information technology's the aforementioned affair for Kirihara. When Nov 11 told her to follow her instincts and what she feels is right, it seemed to me that this was applicative to Hei too. Kirihara as well had a bit of a similar dilemma on the homo side, every bit presented to her by Hourai, if she would be willing to sacrifice humans in return for letting contractors live. She believes that good and bad contractors exist, just equally it is for humans, the path she chose was to go along on pursuing peace and order the way she knew it, by being a cop going on against and protecting both humans and contractors.

On a lighter note, I thought chibi Hei had kind of a funky child voice. Lol. Information technology sounded a fleck off. =P  I would have also liked to meet more Hei 10 Kirihara interaction like that in episode 23. Ahehe.  Oh, and information technology kind of disappointed me a bit that I didn't see Kirihara in some action, similar perchance trying to defend herself and fighting back when Hourai grabbed her throat. I mean, she was a cop after all and a caput of a department, even, so I idea she deserved to show a chip more strength than but patently getting choked without a fight. =D

While watching the epilogue office, I thought that the series went sort of full circle. It came back to Kirihara doing the voiceover and explaining what happened shortly thereafter, with the anti-gravity contractor trying to escape from the police, just like in the very first episode… But this time, they were prepare for it and had a few modifications made in their weapons and managed to capture the contractor before he had a hazard. I kinda liked the catastrophe. Certain, it was open up-ended and left me wondering if that was indeed Mao, where Yin is, how Hei is going to face his path and stay away from the organisation and what happens now,  just it still had a sense of resolution in the general story, then I could say that was good enough for me.

FINAL IMPRESSION :  I must say, there are withal a bunch of questions in my mind after watching it, especially regarding the characters. I would love to see a follow upwardly on this series, mayhap either an OVA, a follow-upwardly movie or a season 2 that will explain to u.s. the other things with regard to the characters, similar perhaps a picayune bit more backstory on how contractors and dolls came to be, since it was never really tackled, and probably fifty-fifty more than of what happened thereafter (in my case, function of this reason is also for the beloved of Hei *dreamy smile*).

Simply overall, once again, I think it was a plumbing equipment and good enough ending for this serial since a number of the main plot problems have been resolved. I really loved this series and I think information technology'southward one of the better ones that I've seen in a while.

Would I recommend you to watch Darker than Black? Yes. Definitely.  ^_^
